Interjet just released a route from Mexico City to New York with a daily trip back and forth. A statement issued by the airline company said that the route will be fully operational by August 2nd of this year. This announcement marked Interjet as the second Mexican carrier to fly this route.
The flight will leave Mexico City every day at 16:40 local time, and is expected to arrive in New York City six hours later. From New York, it will travel daily at 07:25 and is expected to reach the city at 11:30.
According to figures from the airline’s online portal, the cost for a from Mexico City will be 2,944.68 pesos for the maiden voyage and 2,594.95 for the remaining days of August. Both rate include taxes. The cost for the flight from NY will cost 2,319.39 pesos throughout August, and with the lien.
In the statement, Interjet also cleared the rumors that travel costs from $349 round trip must be paid in pesos according to the exchange rate that sets the Bank of Mexico at the time of purchase.
For the opening of the route, the firm offers passengers the possibility of carrying 50 kg of baggage without extra charge, provided they are carried two suitcases with up to 25 kilos each.
