Every good salesperson has to be able to sell. There is a common trend when applying for business jobs where you are asked to sell the interviewer a random item in the room as every good salesperson is expected to be able to sell anything. Many people who have never worked in the world of sales believe that the process of selling an item is quite straightforward.
